Home Telecom Brings SmartTown Community Wi-Fi to Berkeley High School Athletic Fields Just in Time for Football Season

Home Telecom is enhancing connectivity for Berkeley High School and its community with the deployment of SmartTown Community Wi-Fi at the school’s athletic fields. This move ensures that students, families, and visitors can enjoy fast, reliable, and secure internet access during sporting events, just as the football season kicks off.

The Wi-Fi launch coincides perfectly with the Berkeley Stags’ first home Varsity Football game against the Winter Park Wildcats at Moody Field on Friday, August 29. Berkeley High School Principal Heather Ducker expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting how the upgrade will improve the experience for everyone supporting the school both on and off the field.

For the first time, fans will have access to free SmartTown Wi-Fi across Moody Field and surrounding athletic venues. Home Telecom’s Vice President of Marketing, Gina Shuler, highlighted that supporters can stream game highlights, share photos, and check scores seamlessly thanks to the community Wi-Fi.

Home Telecom customers automatically connect when entering the fields, while visitors can easily join the SmartTown Visitor network onsite. This installation follows successful rollouts in other local communities such as Nexton and Main Street Moncks Corner, where residents have embraced enhanced connectivity.

SmartTown Wi-Fi stands out as more than just free internet—it offers superior speed, reliability, and security, protecting users against online threats such as hacks and viruses.

Berkeley County School District Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon praised the local business partnerships that benefit students and their families, recognizing Home Telecom’s contribution to the community. The company, headquartered in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, has a rich history spanning over 120 years and continues to lead in providing advanced broadband, home automation, and security services in the region.

The new Wi-Fi installation at Berkeley High’s athletic fields marks another milestone in Home Telecom’s mission to improve digital infrastructure and connectivity for South Carolina communities, ensuring fans can stay connected and engaged throughout the football season and beyond.
