ESPN has announced an innovative partnership with Teamworks, a leader in sports performance software, to enhance the network’s college football coverage this season. Teamworks, known for powering more than 6,500 elite teams across the globe, will provide ESPN’s research team with its state-of-the-art Coaching and Scouting platform.

This technology, originally developed by Telemetry Sports and now integrated into Teamworks, combines advanced player tracking analytics, computer vision, and machine learning. The aim is to deliver a new depth to player and game analysis. ESPN researchers will now have access to tools offering real-time and historical metrics that can contextualize player performance and reveal tactical trends. These insights, powered by predictive intelligence, are designed to help ESPN deliver sharper analysis and fresh perspectives during broadcasts.

Jeremy Hochstedler, GM of Coaching at Teamworks and founder of Telemetry Sports, expressed that the platform’s roots are in high-level decision-making and talent evaluation—tools that have long served elite organizations. Now, ESPN is positioned to utilize these resources for in-depth coverage, helping fans gain a more nuanced understanding of coaching decisions, player performance, and game planning.

Teamworks’ growth in the industry has been marked by strategic acquisitions and product integration that today benefits 100% of NFL teams and nearly every Division I college program. Its recent Series F funding round places the company’s valuation at over $1 billion, suggesting continued expansion and influence in the world of sports technology.

This partnership arrives just in time for the kickoff of the new college football season, positioning ESPN to set a new standard for sports analysis by leveraging Teamworks’ robust suite of analytics and predictive tools. Both organizations see this union as a way to enhance both the storytelling and strategic depth of college football coverage as the season unfolds
